Welcome
to the Missouri weinstrasse, the two-lane "wine road" that intertwines through
scenic wooded hills and deep river valleys in the southeastern corner of St.
Charles County, Missouri.
Settled by German
immigrants, towns along the Weinstrasse are recognized for their rich German
heritage, which includes a long history of wine making. That tradition of great
wine making was rediscovered in the Missouri River Valley with it's unique
soils and favorable climate.
The Augusta, Balducci,
Montelle, and Sugar Creek Wineries along the Weinstrasse are recognized
throughout the state for critically-acclaimed wines produced from the
surrounding vineyards. Since the 1800's these vineyards have been recognized
for the superior quality of grapes which continue to prosper in the fertile
Missouri River Valleys. You are cordially invited to travel along the
Weinstrasse, taste the wine, and enjoy the beautiful river valley scenery!
